How a Broken Pipe in WNC Changed Everything for Us.

With 27 years in the tech industry, my career has been defined by building complex programs, apps, and automations for my clients. However, the inspiration for Ridgeline Smart Homes came from a much more personal place: my own vacation home right here in Western North Carolina. While living out of state, I experienced the genuine stress of managing a remote property. I dealt with the helplessness of not being able to assist renters from afar, and worse, the devastating aftermath of two separate freezes that resulted in busted pipes and a failed pump—all because I wasn’t local to intervene.

I initially tried to solve these issues with off-the-shelf products, but I quickly found myself overwhelmed, managing my home through a dozen different, disconnected apps. Leveraging my tech background, I decided to build a better way. I integrated everything into a single, unified platform that allowed me to control humidity, lighting, and climate from one user-friendly hub. My love for these mountains eventually led me to make WNC my full-time home, where I now spend my time fly fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Today, my mission is to provide that same peace of mind to my neighbors, ensuring you have total control over your home and its vital systems, no matter where you are in the world.
